Forum Rules and Guidelines
Users are Responsible for their Posted Messages. The real-time nature of these forums makes it impossible for us to review or monitor messages and Allen Online/Allen Talk is not responsible for any messages posted. The messages express the views of the message author.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use these forums to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, religiously disrespectful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, potentially libelous, or otherwise violate any law.
Allen Online takes your Privacy Seriously. You may not post any personal information about anybody or any material that is invasive of a person's privacy. Allen Online extends this courtesy to persons not registered to use this service.
Allen Online reserves the right to reveal whatever information we know about you in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message you post. The laws that apply in the offline world must be obeyed online. We have zero tolerance for illegal behavior and we will cooperate with law enforcement on such matters.
User Accounts and Names. You are only allowed one user registration. You cannot select a display name that may create confusion with another person. You cannot use a business name unless you are an Allen Online advertiser. An Invalid email address will void your registration. To conform to Federal Regulations, Allen Online has chosen to restrict the participation of those under 13 years of age in these forums.
No Cursing, Swear Words. Foul language is prohibited. Do Not Circumvent the profanity filter.
Flames are Not Allowed. Focus on the issue and not on the person presenting the issue. This can be difficult at times when the person presenting the issue includes strong criticism. This usually results in strong criticism from an opposite point of view. Debate and disagreement are normal and acceptable as long as it doesn't become discourteous. Basic etiquette should guide your online conduct.
Advertising your Business. Only Allen Online advertisers can post information about their business.
No Posting of PMs. They are called "private" for a reason. If you have a problem with a PM that is sent to you, report it to the administrators. Posting it in the forums is not acceptable.
Freedom of Speech and Online Conduct. These limitations are not unusual as similar rules can be found at workplaces, schools, courtrooms and probably in your own home. When you register for these forums, you agree to abide by these rules and voluntarily agree to restrict your own rights in exchange for receiving this Service.
Forum Information. You agree not to copy, publish, distribute, or create derivative works on the forum contents without written permission from Allen Online/Allen Talk. Allen Online/Allen Talk cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.
Review Changes. Allen Online/Allen Talk reserves the right to change these Rules & Guidelines and any additional Guidelines found on specific forums. Your continued use of these forums directly or indirectly, constitutes your acceptance of any changes. It is your sole responsibility to check these rules periodically and remain up-to-date with the changes.
These Rules and Guidelines are the same as the Rules and Guidelines you agreed with when you registered for this service.
