    Pulte Homes?

Like Fox & Jacobs (turned Centex) back in the day, Pulte used to build a decent home. Seems like as the years progressed and economy did its thing, Pulte (as well as other tract builders) cut back on upgrades, features, options, etc for the same money. Drees and David Weekley, IMO, are on the higher end of the spectrum in terms of quality. Prices are higher, but it would be well worth it in the long-run. DW is going to start building in Hamilton Hills here in Allen, and Pulte builds in Waterford Parks. Drees builds in Cumberland Crossing and Shaddock Park here in Allen. Something to consider as alternatives if one decides against Pulte...
  2. So, the article mentions specific block and street in Garland, but not for Allen. Any idea where in Allen?
  3. Yet, no one has said what area these people were in. How many of us were suspicious and didn't call the police? That's sad. So, you're going to leave up to your neighbor to call? Really, the PD would rather you call them out of mere concern instead of just sending them on to the next person, because it could be the next person that actually becomes their victim in some form or fashion. Just something to think about...
  4. Will, see Joel's response I quoted. I haven't seen any changes with the property but am assuming, based on others who may know more, it's still going in next to Walmart...
  5. Def agreed. I watched an interview of a father who lost his 6 y/o daughter as a result. He went on to say that he's lost everything, his wife (ex-wife now) and now his daughter. Such a sad situation. It's pretty scary to see some of the raw video posted on YouTube.

    power outages

In the past, if it was a rolling blackout, we'd normally hear in the news ahead of time. I may have missed something, but I didn't recall hearing anything with that regard. Half the houses on my street had power, the others and I did not. I'm near Main/Allen Heights...
  7. Not sure if you're asking me, but you are correct. I'm not originally from here. I'm no stranger to wildlife, but figured the growth in the area over the past several years would have pushed most of it further out, not in...
  8. And for those of us walkers, joggers, and runners, I suppose we'll need to keep our eyes out toward the creeks and wooded areas we trail along. I've only seen rabits where I've been but, based on some of the above posts, I come pretty close to where bobcats and coyotes have been sighted.

    "Queen" Kitty Wells

I agree about the Dez Bryant hype. Get over it already, I could care less about him. Sad day for sure in country music. I'm much younger than many who like her (in my 30s), but no doubt she is a legend! And I only hope others in the industry will carry on her legacy by reproducing some of her songs...
  10. 6 or 8 houses across from me and toward the end had power, yet everyone else (including us) had no power. Friends off Jupiter, b/t Bethany and Main, had no power. Def a widespread issue and am glad it wasn't earlier in the day too...
  11. Main & Allen Heights...
  12. I wish I knew, myself! Looks like the two of you and the four of us will be the first six guests there. I'm beyond ready for CB to open...
  13. I'm all for the public exposure of toll violators, especially for those shown on the news. No excuse whatsoever. Those people give convenience a bad name, called laziness and irresponsibility.
  14. I'm still waiting for the guy to come back. He stopped by Tues, knocked on my door around lunchtime, and said what would happen. Because I was on a conf call and could not disconnect, I advised him to come back later in the afternoon. He said he would. Still haven't seen him come back since. I'm in no hurry for the switch...
  15. Twice this week I've run up and down Allen Heights and have seen patrols each time as I'm approaching Rivercrest. Glad to see them keeping their eyes out...
